In October 2017, I needed a transmission installed in my 1993 Buick Road Master. Following some research, I chose to ask Mead's Automotive personnel to do the job. I met and talked with Rich in their office. He and the others there were very friendly, helpful and professional when it came to explaining what must be done and estimating the possible time frame involved. I elected to have a JASPER remanufactured transmission installed and am very happy that I did so. Once the transmission arrived at Mead's Automotive in Sulphur, La. it took only a day or so for me to be able to drive my car home. It has been one month since, and I have driven quite a few miles. I can't feel the transmission shift and am very happy with the JASPER transmission and the work done by Mead's personnel. I recommend them very highly, and plan to check with them if I need more work done in the future.

Honest....Went in for transfer case seal....while on the rack found bad shaft & leaky boots...Thank you for the additional look, much better to find a potential problem in the shop than any of the alternatives. Reasonable prices; Great service & excellent work.
My vehicle was dropped off before Hurricane Harvey hit. Kept my vehicle for over a month and it is STILL not fixed. We never heard a word or got an update unless we initiated contact. John informed us he was working short handed due to half his crew being affected by the storm. Fine, okay...we are understanding people. Thankful that we had other vehicles to use during this time, so we waited. Let me put it to you like this PEOPLE IN HOUSTON who were DEVASTATED by the HURRICANE were back to WORK before the Meads Automotive Shop and Crew were. Excuses now went from half a crew, to now waiting on Dodge to return their phone call. SERIOUSLY?? 5 hundred dollars later a salvage part they reprogrammed and 3 hours of labor and still my truck head lamp low beams are not working reliably. and my HOOD is jacked up and not closing tightly. The Truck is down there once again. I nicely told John I could not wait that long, this time...to which he responded curtly that "he had his crew bailing water out of their houses, then so ..." To which I responded "John don't ACT like we weren't UNDERSTANDING with the situation regarding the HURRICANE" "We did not BOTHER YOU will numerous calls demanding UPDATES on our TRUCK, NOR did YOU call us updating us either." To which he responded "Yes, just bring it down here and someone will be right on it" I will update when I get my truck back. This is #Day 1 at Meads Automotive. I do NOT RECOMMEND THEM. I already EXCUSED them "FIXING" our JEEP and it got across the roadway to the red light on 90 to turn left at Exxon in Sulphur and it DIED. The Meads Automotive Mechanics had to PUSH it back into their parking lot. I can't keep throwing money away because sometimes they fix it, sometimes they don't ...BS.
Rip off. I brought my truck in for some basic work, got a quote, ended up paying triple, they decided to do more work than i asked for without asking. and charged crazy prices for it. they had a 60 dollar charge on there for something that would have taken me 30 seconds too do. When i complained about it they told me to bring my truck back and they would undue the work and refund my money. As if i had time to miss more work.
