I was in this office today, Friday, Nov. 4, 2016. I arrived at about 3:20 in the afternoon to a packed lobby. I sat there waiting to be called until 4:00. Then an announcement stating the system was down state wide was made AT 4:00 EXACTLY and to leave as they were closed. I then called the Baton Rouge number. After a brief wait, I was speaking to a young woman about my reason to visit and to my shock and awe, the system was in fact NOT DOWN!!!. it is a crying shame this office kicked people out just because it was closing time. It is an even bigger shame they LIED ABOUT THE SYSTEM BEING DOWN STATE WIDE. Not caring that some of us have to take off work, which is frowned on in some cases, to take care of this type of business. So to MRS. FAULK, do you condone your employees lying about the system going down so they don't have to serve the remaining customers???? Do you consider this proper customer service to residents of this state by state employees??? I certainly hope someone in a position to rectify and dole out some type of reprimand reads this.
Awful. Last time I went in I turned around when the machine made me pull 10 tickets out instead of 1. Go to lake Charles and save yourself the time at the DMV which is much more spacious over there
Small room for improvement, however I have always found the agents that work in the Sulphur office to be very helpful and friendly. They will go out of there way to explain the process required to complete any of the procedures to title or register a vehicle or to complete any action that their office is responsible to complete for the citizens of Louisiana. Since the office moved from Highway 90 to their present location.
Always go to this location! Monday's are busy but mid week your pretty much in and out. I don't remember them being overly friendly but your done so fast it didn't even matter to me they were still nice. I had to bring my toddler with me last time and they helped keep him still while I had to take my picture and we're nice about it normally that annoys people but they all wanted to say hey to him. I'd rather only be there for 30min and them be nice then to have super friendly chatty people and wait three hours at the lake charles location any day but normally they are super rude in lake charles! I was only sad it took me three licenses renewals to find out about this location
I think this place needs to be more informative with people, especially considering the fact that people don't have all day to wait in line to be told something they weren't told over the phone when they called. I seriously live an hour Away, have a very busy schedule and called two days prior to getting my drivers license, to find out when I got there I also needed two forms of proof of residency. Which really ticks me off because I called two days before asking exactly what I needed and explained my situation. Seriously every experience I've ever had with service in the south has been HORRIBLE. Move to the north if you don't want to wait ten dang years or be misinformed on literally everything that happens here.
